Rhythm of Nations: Vagos, Lodz and Kosice Hosts Spectacular Events
Last weekend Europe became a hub for DanceSport as three major competitions brought together athletes from across the continent. The Vagos Open, the Lodz Open Festival and Košice Grand Prix highlighted the energy, dedication, and international scope of the DanceSport community.
VAGOS
The portuguese city of Vagos was filled past weekend with the celebration of the 8th RF Vagos Open at Pavilhão Municipal, an event that brought together nearly 1,000 athletes from 35 different countries, performing in front of an enthusiastic audience of around 3,000 spectators.
A High-Profile Event with Institutional and Media Support
The Open attracted significant institutional attention: members of the Portuguese Government, the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, Turismo de Portugal, as well as the Mayor of Vagos, all in attendance, highlighted the event’s importance for the region.
Media coverage was also substantial with national broadcaster Rádio e Televisão de Portugal - RTP, ensuring that the excitement extended well beyond the arena and reached a much wider audience.

A landmark in the DanceSport Calendar
The 8th RF Vagos Open 2025 not only met competitive expectations but also reaffirmed its reputation as a classic fixture on the WDSF European circuit. With strong international participation, solid media coverage, and memorable results across categories, Vagos once again proved to be an unmissable stop for the DanceSport community.
LODZ
The vibrant city of Lodz welcomed the DanceSport community for the Lodz Open Festival, held at the modern Zatoka Sportu, which proved to be the perfect stage for an inspiring showcase of skills and international friendship.
Participation and atmosphere
This year’s festival attracted approximately 350 athletes, representing more than 10 countries and numerous clubs.
The event was further distinguished by the honored presence of the Mayor of Lodz, Ms Hanna Zdanowska, who joined the audience in celebrating both the achievements of the athletes and the growing importance of DanceSport in the city and the wider region.

The Lodz Open Festival 2025 highlighted both the remarkable technical skill of the athletes and the unifying power of DanceSport, the competition provided unforgettable moments for participants and spectators alike.
With its strong international character, warm atmosphere, and excellent organization, the event once again demonstrated why Lodz deserves its place on the global DanceSport calendar.
KOSICE
The Košice Grand Prix 2025 was held at the renowned Spoločenský pavilón, featuring two dance floors, ensuring a continuous and exciting spectacle.
The event brought together a total of 322 athletes across the Slovak Open categories and WDSF competitions. More than 10 countries, representing a variety of clubs and showcasing the high international standards, attracted between 200 and 300 spectators each day.

Between the attendance
The Košice Grand Prix welcomed prominent institutional figures, including the Mayor of the Košice-Západ district and the President of the Slovak DanceSport Federation, who attended the competitions and participated in the prize-giving ceremonies, highlighting the importance of dance sport in the region.
One step forward
For the first time, the event featured its own livestream via Web Antic TV, ensuring extended and accessible coverage for the national DanceSport community.
The Grand Prix reinforces Košice’s role as an important centre for DanceSport in Slovakia, providing a high-level platform for athletes, encouraging local public participation and contributing to the promotion and development of the discipline in the region.
