European DanceSport Keeps Pushing the Boundaries

With the curtain falling on Novi Sad 2026, the European Stage and Disco Dance communities have sent a clear message: the sport is growing at an incredible pace.

This wasn't just about handing out medals; it was a showcase of a thriving ecosystem where disciplines like Modern & Contemporary, Jazz, Show Dance, and Disco Dance are constantly pushing each other to new heights. The artistic risk, technical difficulty, and sheer athleticism seen this week prove that European DanceSport has an incredibly bright, and sophisticated, future ahead.

Reflecting on the success of the event, WDSF President Mr. Shawn Tay expressed his pride in the evolution of these disciplines:

"What we have witnessed in Novi Sad is a testament to the incredible passion and rapid development of Stage and Disco DanceSport across Europe. Seeing over 1,300 athletes perform with such technical mastery and artistic courage proves that our community is thriving. The energy at the venue was outstanding, and it is clear that these disciplines are not only expanding our audience but also redefining the boundaries of athletic expression within the WDSF."
