The first ever WDSF Open staged in Colombia served as a test event for The World Games that will get underway in Cali exactly one year from Thursday this week.

The Colombian DanceSport Federation and the Cali Organising Committee for The World Games 2013 (CLOC) were the impeccable host to a series of DanceSport competitions (under the name of 'To Heaven's Rhythm') staged at the Dann Carlton hotel on 21 and 22 July.

As a pre-event to The World Games, the two-day tournament served CLOC to put its systems to a test: from accreditation to the processing of the results, from organising local transport and accommodation to matters of protocol.

The Open Latin saw Daniel Camacho - Carolina Pérez, ECU, in first place, ahead of José Romero - Verónica Padrón, ECU, in second and  Óscar Carreño - Katia Carreño, MEX, in third.
