Alicante to Become the World Capital of DanceSport as it Hosts the 2026 WDSF World Championships Caribbean Dances

Alicante, 03/09/2026 – The city of Alicante will once again take centre stage on the international sports map from 9 to 12 October 2026 as it hosts the third edition of the Alicante Dance Festival. Organised by the CBE Fever Dance Alicante club in collaboration with the Federación Española de Baile Deportivo (FEBD) and the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), the festival will host one of the discipline's flagship events: the 2026 WDSF World Caribbean Dance Championships.

Over four intense days coinciding with the October bank holiday weekend, the competition will reach an unprecedented scale. The WDSF has announced a historic expansion of its official programme by introducing nine new categories, bringing the total number of World Champion titles to be contested in Alicante to 21.

Athletes, couples, and duos from dozens of countries will compete across various categories in Salsa (On 1 and On 2) and Bachata, ranging from Juveniles and Juniors to Adults and Seniors.

A SPORTING SPECTACLE IN STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES

The venue chosen for this world event is VB Spaces Alicante, a venue spanning over 7,000 square metres equipped with professional lighting and sound infrastructure unique in the national dancesport sector.

In addition to the World Championships Caribbean Dances, the Alicante Dance Festival programme will feature major national and international events:

· WDSF World Cup Solo Adult Latin

· Spanish Championships Choreographic Dance: National titles for Duos and Groups.

· WDSF Opens and National Trophies: Ranking events for both National and World Rankings in Standard and Latin disciplines.
