A New Stage, the Same Drive

With their Professional debut behind them, and a PD World Championship title already under their belts, Alexey and Anastasia have entered a new chapter with the same hunger that carried them through years at the top of the Amateur field.

“Inside, it didn’t feel so different from other competitions,” Anastasia reflects on Tokyo. “As always, we just tried to enjoy our dancing, to give our best. It was very calm, very focused.”

Alexey agrees, but adds a layer of appreciation: “We really enjoyed that competition. Not just because it was Professional, but because everything around it was so well-organized. You could feel that WDSF had put great effort into it, and as athletes, we felt that. You walk into the venue and you know: this is something important. That feeling makes you want to give even more.”

“When the organization puts heart into an event, the athletes feel it, and so does the audience. Everyone gives more.”Alexey Glukhov

Their next stop:The World Games 2025 in Chengdu. And for Anastasia, this one holds special meaning. “All my life, I’ve dreamed of going there,” she admits. “Not even to win, just to be part of it. I don’t know why, but it was always something I wanted. And now, finally, it’s happening.”

Alexey, too, speaks with excitement. “We’ve heard so many amazing things about the World Games, from athletes who have already competed. They all say it’s something special, something different. Not just a competition, but an experience. A celebration of sport. And that’s exactly what we’re coming for.”

Goals That Go Beyond Titles

Having reached the top in both the Amateur and Professional divisions, Alexey and Anastasia are now looking ahead, not only as competitors, but as mentors, artists, and individuals with a larger purpose.

“Our goal now is to improve,” says Anastasia, without hesitation. “To continue learning, to keep growing… and to see a part of ourselves continue through our students.”

Alexey nods. “Yes, that’s the biggest goal, to inspire others. To share something meaningful with the people who come after us. It’s not just about what we win. It’s about what we leave behind.”

Their answers are simple, but speak volumes. No grand declarations, no lists of titles, just a quiet commitment to purpose, presence, and passing the torch. “Of course we’ll keep competing,” Alexey adds, “but we’re also thinking beyond that. Teaching, helping others grow… that’s the next stage.”

Legacy and Perspective

If they could speak to their younger selves, the ambitious teenagers who first laced up their dance shoes more than 15 years ago, Alexey and Anastasia wouldn’t change a thing.

“Honestly, I would tell them to do exactly the same,” Alexey says. “Not to change anything. Every decision we’ve made had value. We didn’t act emotionally, we acted with experience and with heart. And that brought us here.”

They speak with the calm assurance of two people who have faced obstacles, but never stopped moving. “There’s nothing to regret,” adds Anastasia. “Every part of the journey, even the hard parts, shaped who we are.”

“All we’ve lived through… it’s ours. It was long, it was hard, but we built it together. And I’m proud of that.”Anastasia Glazunova

Looking ahead 10 years, they hope that their future selves will see this moment, the leap to the Professional DanceSport, the shift in their path, as a turning point handled with courage and clarity. “We want to look back and know we made the right choices,” says Alexey. “That we stayed true to who we are.”

When asked how they’d like to be remembered by the DanceSport world, both reflect for a moment. Then Anastasia speaks with quiet conviction. She doesn’t need people to say they were the best, what matters most to her is that their dancing left a mark. That people remember the feeling they brought to the floor. That their style, carefully shaped over years of work and trust, lives on in memory.

Alexey agrees. “As dancers who created their own style,” he says. “As a couple who overcame challenges and left something behind in DanceSport, something of our own.”

They don’t need statues or records. What matters to them is impact, the memory of a presence, a quality, a way of moving that was unmistakably theirs. Something built together, with time, trust, and consistency.

The Final Step and the Road Ahead

They’ve climbed every stage, conquered every challenge, and stood at the top of their field. But for Alexey Glukhov and Anastasia Glazunova, this new chapter in the Professional carrier is not the end, it’s a new beginning. One filled with freedom, responsibility, and the quiet determination to keep dancing with purpose.

What remains is not just a list of titles, but a legacy built through discipline, style, and humanity. A reminder that greatness is not just measured in medals, but in the memories created, the paths opened for others, and the courage to keep evolving.

And evolve they did. Just months after their Professional debut, the couple stepped onto one of the most prestigious multi-sport stages in the world, The World Games, and left with the gold medal. It was a victory layered with meaning, not only for what it represents in DanceSport, but for what it meant to them personally.
