Calvià Set to Host Fifth Mallorca Dance Festival with European and World Open Competitions

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), in cooperation with the Federación Española de Baile Deportivo (FEBD) and local organisers, is pleased to announce that the fifth edition of the Mallorca Dance Festival will take place in Calvià, Spain, from 30 April to 3 May 2026. Competitions will be staged at the Pabellón Municipal Galatzó in Santa Ponsa, continuing the event’s presence in one of the region´s principal sporting venues.

Over four days, the festival will present a comprehensive WDSF programme spanning senior, adult, youth, junior and solo categories in both Standard and Latin disciplines. The 2026 edition will be marked by three headline competitions: the WDSF European Championship Latin Youth, the WDSF European Championship Standard Adult and the WDSF World Open (New Series) Latin Adult.

The competitive schedule opens on 30 April with Open events in Senior and Youth divisions. From 1 to 3 May, the programme expands to include Rising Stars competitions, multiple Senior and Junior categories, Under 21 and Youth divisions, International Open and World Open events, as well as a full range of Solo Standard and Solo Latin competitions. The event also incorporates several DSE Children Grand Prix competitions, ensuring representation from the youngest levels of the competitive structure through to elite adult athletes.

In addition to the international calendar events, the festival will host the Spanish Championship in Solo Ten Dance, further reinforcing its position within the national competitive structure.

Since its inception, the Mallorca Dance Festival has developed into a recurring meeting point for athletes and federations within the WDSF. Its fifth edition reflects continuity rather than expansion for its own sake: a stable competitive framework, a balanced programme across age groups, and a venue capable of accommodating both elite and developmental categories within the same setting.

Calvià, located on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands, offers established transport links and sporting infrastructure, enabling participation from a broad range of National Federations to take part in the event.

WDSF President Shawn Tay commented on the significance of the event coming for its fifth edition:

“The Mallorca Dance Festival has become an established fixture within our calendar. The inclusion of European Championship events alongside World Open competitions and national titles demonstrates the layered structure of DanceSport, from emerging athletes to experienced competitors. We look forward to seeing the international community gather once again in Calvià.”

The organization of the 2026 Mallorca Dance Festival said:

“For us, it is a great honour that year after year both public institutions and the WDSF place their trust in us and provide their support to help this event grow. We hope not to disappoint with this 5th edition, which we are looking forward to with great excitement, and which will include some surprises that both the audience and the dancers should not miss.”

Further information and news about the event will be published through the WDSF official communication channels in due course.
