Secure Your Spot for the 2026 WDSF World Championships Caribbean Dances in Alicante, Spain

The countdown to the 2026 WDSF World Championships Caribbean Dances is officially underway. Taking place from 9 to 12 October 2026 in the coastal city of Alicante, Spain, this flagship event promises to be a landmark celebration of global rhythm, athleticism, and artistry. Organised by the CBE Fever Dance Alicante club in collaboration with the Federación Española de Baile Deportivo (FEBD) and the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), the festival is set to turn Alicante into the capital of international DanceSport during the October bank holiday weekend.

Athlete registrations are currently available through the event's platform.

Athletes, coaches, and delegations are encouraged to finalize their registrations early to prepare their routines for the global stage.

A Historic Programme: 21 World Championship Titles

To make this year’s edition even more extraordinary, the official competition programme has expanded with nine new World Championship titles, raising the overall count to an unprecedented twenty-one World Championship titles across Salsa and Bachata disciplines.

The expanded schedule incorporates competitive formats across various age groups, including:

Adult Couples World Championships (3 Titles):

· WDSF World Championship Salsa On One Adult

· WDSF World Championship Salsa On Two Adult

· WDSF World Championship Bachata Adult

Shine Duo Female World Championships (4 Titles):

· WDSF World Championship Salsa Shine Duo Female Adult & Junior

· WDSF World Championship Bachata Shine Duo Female Adult & Junior

Senior Female Solo World Championships (2 Titles):

· WDSF World Championship Salsa Shine Solo Female Senior

· WDSF World Championship Bachata Shine Solo Female Senior

These additions complement twelve previously established Solo Shine categories across Adult, Youth, and Junior athletes, alongside WDSF Open Juvenile Solo Shine categories for emerging talent.

Four Days of High-Level Competition

The competition schedule spans four action-packed days at VB Spaces Alicante, a state-of-the-art venue boasting over 7,000 square metres equipped with professional lighting and sound infrastructure:

Friday, 9 October: Features WDSF Open Standard Senior IV & V, Juvenile Solo Shine (Salsa & Bachata), and Adult World Championships for Salsa & Bachata Shine Solo (Female & Male).

Saturday, 10 October: Highlights WDSF Open Standard Senior III, Rising Stars, Latin Youth & Junior events, WDSF World Cup Solo Latin Female Adult, and Youth World Championships for Salsa & Bachata Shine.

Sunday, 11 October: Showcases WDSF World Championships in Salsa On One, Salsa On Two, and Bachata Adult Couples, alongside Junior II Shine events and various WDSF Opens in Standard and Latin.

Monday, 12 October: Concludes with WDSF World Championships in Salsa and Bachata Shine Duo Female (Adult & Junior) and Senior Female Solo categories, along with national competitions including the Spanish Championships in Choreographic Dance.
