Compete Across Both Adult and Youth Categories at the 2026 Brisbane World Breaking DanceSport Festival

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) reminds athletes aiming for the 2026 Brisbane World Breaking DanceSport Festival that they can register in both Adult and Youth categories simultaneously, provided they meet the respective age requirements.

This unique opportunity allows breakers to gain valuable experience, ranking points, and international exposure across multiple levels of competition.

The event, taking place on 17–18 January 2026 at the iconic Brisbane City Hall, is designed to celebrate athleticism and cultural roots of Breaking, offering a platform for athletes to perform on an international stage, engage with the global Breaking community, and showcase their skills in a landmark event.

Why Compete in Both Categories?

By registering for both Adult and Youth categories, eligible athletes can:

  • Maximise their competition experience and exposure.
  • Challenge themselves against both peers and more experienced athletes.
  • Earn ranking points at multiple levels and enhance their pathways toward international competitions.

Registrations close on 5 January 2026.

Competition Categories:

  • Adult 1vs1 B-Boys & B-Girls – born in 2010 or earlier (16 years or older by 31 December 2026). Points contribute to WDSF Adult World Ranking.
  • Youth 1vs1 B-Boys & B-Girls – born between 2008–2013. Points contribute to WDSF Youth World Ranking and are considered for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar.
  • Team 3vs3 Mixed – minimum 1 Adult B-Girl (born 2010 or earlier) and recommended 1 Youth athlete under 18.

Athletes are encouraged to finalise their entries in all applicable categories before this date to secure their place at this landmark event.

Looking Ahead

With workshops, cultural showcases, and performances alongside high-level competition, the event represents a crucial step in preparing the next generation of breakers for international success, including future pathways to the Youth Olympic Games 2026 in Dakar and the Olympic Movement that awaits in Brisbane 2032.
