Montenegro DanceSport Federation becomes new member of WDSF

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is pleased to announce the official admission of the Montenegro DanceSport Federation as its newest National Member Federation, marking an important step in the continued global growth of DanceSport.

This moment reflects the sustained efforts of the Montenegrin DanceSport community over the past years to build a structured, transparent and internationally aligned federation.

A historic milestone for Montenegro

Speaking on the occasion, Ivana Gasević, President of the Montenegro DanceSport Federation, highlighted the significance of this achievement:

“This marks a major milestone for our sport and a defining moment in the journey we set in motion six years ago.”

She emphasized that joining WDSF represents both recognition and responsibility, as well as a key opportunity for future development: The recognition as a WDSF member confirms the progress made at national level and opens the door for athletes, coaches, and officials to fully integrate into the international DanceSport system. It also enables participation in official WDSF competitions and continued development under global standards.

Looking ahead, the Federation has outlined a clear strategic focus: strengthening national structures in line with WDSF regulations, expanding access to international competitions, enhancing coach and adjudicator education, and increasing youth participation across Montenegro. The long-term vision is to establish Montenegro as a strong and competitive presence within the international DanceSport community.

Ivana Gasević also addressed athletes, coaches, and the wider DanceSport community:
