The weekend of 20–22 December 2025 brought together top DanceSport talent across Europe, with two standout events: the WDSF European Championship Show Dance Latin Adult in Ettlingen, Germany, and the Czech Dance Cup in Prague. From elegant gala performances to high-energy solo competitions, dancers showcased their skill, creativity, and competitive spirit, delighting audiences and reinforcing Europe’s vibrant DanceSport community.

WDSF European Championship Show Dance Latin Adult in Ettlingen

Ettlingen, Germany, 20 December 2025. The WDSF European Championship Show Dance Latin Adult was held within the elegant Christmas Charity Ball, organized by Dance-School Magic Dance and the Schwarz-Weiss-Club Pforzheim. The competition took place at the picturesque Schlossgartenhalle, next to Ettlingen Castle, welcoming around 500 spectators throughout an afternoon gathering and evening gala. Although intimate in scale, the event offered a refined and exciting platform for elite DanceSport.

Ivo Muenster, Vice-President Sport of the German DanceSport Federation, praised the organizers for delivering a beautifully staged competition in an elegant environment, combining top-level performance with a festive and charitable setting.

Key Results of the Competition, Saturday 20th December

Seven couples from seven different countries, each nominated by their national federation, competed in the championship. From the very first performance, the atmosphere was electric, with athletes delivering outstanding routines that combined technical precision, creativity, and artistic storytelling. Each couple showcased a distinct show, highlighting their unique style and interpretation.

Razvan Dumitrescu and Jacky Jooswon the championship with their captivating show “In the Heart of the Arena”, finishing with a lead of over 3.5 points. This triumph marked a milestone, as it was their final competition in the Amateur division before transitioning to the WDSF Professional Division, closing a successful chapter in their dance career.

Czech Dance Cup 2025: Solo Dance Takes the Stage in Prague

Prague, Czechia – 12–14 December 2025. The vibrant city of Prague hosted the Czech Dance Cup, a premier solo DanceSport competition series organized by TŠ StormDance. Over a full weekend, the event combined national and international contests, attracting top solo dancers from across Europe for a celebration of talent, creativity, and competitive excellence.

Key Results of the Competition, Saturday 20th Decemeber

The weekend offered a structured programme designed to highlight the skills of both emerging talents and established solo dancers. The event began on Friday evening with the Super Final of the national competition series, where athletes faced off in an exhilarating battle format, one-on-one. The energy in the venue was palpable, with every move and turn met with enthusiastic applause, creating an atmosphere charged with anticipation and excitement that set the tone for the remainder of the weekend.

Saturday marked the centrepiece of the event with the WDSF international competitions, bringing together solo athletes from across Europe and beyond. The international stage provided competitors with the opportunity to showcase their technical precision and athletic prowess but also their creativity and artistic expression. Each routine reflected hours of dedication and preparation, offering spectators and judges a thrilling display of passion, performance, and competitive spirit.

The weekend concluded on Sunday with the National Solo Dance League, providing a platform for local dancers to gain invaluable experience and demonstrate their progress in a professional setting. The event fostered a supportive environment where athletes could challenge themselves, receive feedback, and engage with peers and mentors, further contributing to the growth and development of solo DanceSport within the Czech Republic.

Across all three days, the Czech Dance Cup combined high-level competition with community, learning, and celebration, leaving a lasting impression on participants and audiences alike.

Participation and International Reach

The event drew significant engagement from across Europe, underscoring the growing popularity and reach of solo DanceSport. A total of 155 registrations resulted in 236 individual starts, with athletes representing 13 countries, including Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Ukraine.

Each routine highlighted the depth of talent, the creativity of the athletes, and the competitive drive that continues to propel the solo DanceSport community to new heights.

A Showcase of Skill and Passion

The Czech Dance Cup not only provided thrilling competition but also reinforced the cultural and educational value of DanceSport. For participants, coaches, and spectators, the event was an opportunity to exchange ideas, gain insights, and celebrate the discipline at both national and international levels.

The event remains a cornerstone for solo dancers seeking growth, recognition, and international exposure. The success of the 2025 edition reaffirms Prague’s role as a hub for DanceSport innovation and excellence.
