Curtain Rises on GOC 2025: Highlights from Day 1 in Stuttgart
Stuttgart, Germany – August 19, 2025 – The German Open Championship (GOC) 2025 officially opened today at the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle, across its three iconic venues: Beethovensaal, Hegelsaal, and Alte Reithalle. The opening day offered a packed schedule with numerous competitions across all age divisions, from the youngest Juveniles to the most seasoned Seniors and Professionals. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation, as dancers, coaches, and fans from around the globe gathered to celebrate one of the most important festivals of the year. With the world of DanceSport turning its eyes to Stuttgart, the GOC once again reaffirmed its status as a stage where elegance, passion, and excellence meet.
WDSF Open Senior IV Standard
Italy’s Bruno Lazzareschi and Ida Zotta impressed the judges with their refined poise and took first place, ahead of Germany’s Michael and Regina Gross in second, while Hungary’s Kranicz Jozsef and Dobo Erika completed the podium.

The opening day also placed the spotlight on the young promises of DanceSport, with several Solo and Ten Dance categories bringing freshness and determination to the floor. From graceful Standard routines to the energy of Latin and the versatility of Ten Dance, these events reflected the depth of talent that continues to emerge across nations and generations.
- Junior I Solo Standard Female: Turkey’s Aylin Aydin delivered elegance and consistency to secure first place.
- Junior II Solo Standard Male: Tam Aidan from Hong Kong led the field with precision and confidence.
- Juvenile II Solo Latin Male: Germany celebrated victory through Weimann Gabriel, ahead of Hong Kong and Mongolia.
- Junior I Ten Dance: Ukraine’s Danyil Dronyk and Victoriia Melnyk topped a strong field.
- Junior II Ten Dance: Poland’s Tymoteusz Korczyk and Olga Stachowiak claimed gold with remarkable consistency.
WDSF Open Youth Standard
One of the highlights of the day, the Youth Standard saw Richards Krivins and Alexandra Shamova (LAT) crowned champions after a captivating performance. Lithuania’s Matas Puplevicius and Gabija Vilciauskaite earned second place, while Spain’s Adria Hernandez and Emilija Ulcinaite claimed third.

WDSF PD Super Grand Prix Latin Adult
The centerpiece of the opening day was the WDSF Professional Division Super Grand Prix Latin Adult. China’s Li Mingxuan and Zhou Wanting rose to the top, claiming their first PD Super Grand Prix victory of 2025 after earlier triumphing at the PD Open Latin in Wuxi (June) and securing second place at the Super Grand Prix in Blackpool (April). This marks their second PD Super Grand Prix victory overall, underlining their ambition for a remarkable season, with eyes already on the WDSF European Championship PD Latin Adult in Rome this October.
They were followed by Moldova’s Sergiu and Anastasia Maruster in second and China’s Li Jiaming and Li Yitong in third.
