Throughout the week of the German Open Championships, the WDSF Communications team is again recording short lessons with different trainers and professional couples. The start of the German Open Championships is still a few hours away. They get underway tomorrow, 13 August, at 09:15.
The halls of the Liederhalle and the other indoor spaces are currently getting readied by GOC staff and the exhibitors, but the surroundings look almost deserted.
In the Maritim Hotel's Riding Hall, howver, the biggest audience yet is captivated by today's lectures of the Adjudicators' Congress. Way more than the anticipated 300 adjudicators attend. There is standing room only!

As always an Adjudicators' Congress precedes the traditional German Open Championships. What makes the one of 2013 exceptional is the fact that it is multidisciplinary - and that it extends over three days.
On Saturday the focus was on Wheelchair and Formation DanceSport. Today's overiding theme is Show Dance, with different lectures addressing specific topics such as "Choreographic Components" and "Judging Criteria" in this new discipline. Tomorrow's lectures cover Latin and Standard.
A WDSF Communications team is on site and will produce brief video summaries on a few of the lectures. The first ones will go up here later today.
The pan-European and pan-Asian sports network EUROSPORT airs the semi-finals and finals of the two WDSF GrandSlam events in Stuttgart, GER, on 17 August.
The GrandSlam Latin, which will be danced on 16 August, is scheduled as a recording from 19:45 to 20:45 UTC/GMT on Eurosport 2 and Eurosport Asia.
Immediately following the one-hour programme, from 20:45 to 21:45 UTC/GMT, Eurosport 2 and Eurosport Asia will broadcast the GrandSlam Standard from the Beethoven Hall in Stuttgart.
The "Live from Stuttgart" blog becomes active from Monday 12 August.
The international feed of the 2013 GrandSlam Stuttgart is again courtesy of SWR (Southwestern Broadcasting). The ARD affiliate counts among the most experienced broadcasters worldwide when it comes to the production of DanceSport. Perennial host broadcaster of the German Open in Stuttgart, SWR also produced the European Standard in Koblenz and the World Standard Formation in Ludwigsburg during 2012. Immediately following the respective first round of the GrandSlam Latin and Standard, an open meeting with the Sports Director will take place at the Maritim hall of the Maritim Hotel.
An important item that will get addressed by Marco is the WDSF Judging System 2.0. But the athletes in attendance can raise other items of interest to them too.
Here is the detailed programmes are now available for the four congresses that will be held prior to and after the German Open Championships in Stuttgart.
Three congresses for WDSF Adjudicators and one congress for WDSF Chairmen held on four days altogether make for an unprecedented offer in 2013. Knowledge transfer is what DanceSport is all about!

Six days to go until the 27th edition of the traditional German Open Championships gets underway in Stuttgart, GER.
Thousands of dancers will converge at the Liederhalle from 13 through 18 of August to enter the 36 contests for all age groups.
WDSF Communications will be on location to report on some of them extensively through the "Live from Stuttgart" blog.
