Of the 25 couples that had qualified for the quarterfinal only 23 took to the floor. Two had to withdraw due to injury prior to the first Samba: Jakub Lipowski - Nikolina Melin, POL, renounced from dancing because of a pinched nerve (Jakub); Nikita Pavlov - Ekaterina Sharanova, RUS, were sidelined because of a foot injury (Nikita).
The two couples were awarded 6.0 points for all component scores in all five dances (hence a total of 120 points). 6.0 is the default setting for a couple not dancing at this stage in a GrandSlam competition. They are now jointly classified in the position 24 - 25th and were awarded 6.0 points for all five dances.
