To speak of Marius-Andrei Balan - Khrystyna Moshenska, GER, as a couple with local roots - be it in Pforzheim, Stuttgart or Baden Wuerttemberg - is no longer as straightforward as it used to be. They, too, are one of many couples which have moved further south, all the way to the Apennine peninsula, to get at least part of their training done there.
They handled the role of underdogs in the face-off against the Moldovans, who also happen to train on the Apennine penisula, very well. They gave the best they had in them in this final, but making it look easy at all time - and by being more relaxed than on some of the other occasions.
