What's happening in Warsaw

Marseille, FRA - 8 October © Roland

This weekend our focus is on World Championship Ten Dance in Warsaw, Poland. Reigning champions, Dumitru Doga and Sarah Ertmer from Germany have split earlier this year, which means the Championship title is heading to a new address on Saturday.

There are 38 couples registered and we are looking forward to an even competition. Three of the six finalists of World Championship 2017 and four of the six finalists of European Championship in March 2018 are coming to Warsaw. In addition to that there are couples who have competed both in Standard and Latin separately in World Opens, GrandSlams or even World Championships and reached good results in one or both disciplines.

Four rounds of ten dance equals 40 dances, 1,5 minutes each. That makes it a full power and full speed 60-minute sports performance in less than a day. It takes stamina, it takes strength, and most of all it takes mental preparation and skills to maintain focus. It will be a long day for some couples and proper hydration and nutrition will be important during the dance marathon. Of course, all the athletes participating have already used to it and they have practised hours and hours to handle it and to get on top of it. After all, these are the best of the World to do it. But this surely is one of the most demanding competition formats in DanceSport. And we will see all of it in Arena Ursynówl on Saturday.

And, there will also be a live stream of the most exciting rounds of the 2018 World Championship Ten Dance, through our partner Flodance.com. Stay tuned!
