It was the tightly fought final that everybody had expected it to be, with the two dominant couples of the GrandSlam Series over the past three years continuing their personal pursuits of excellence. In the final tally of points, Dmitry Zharkov and Olga Kulikova fought their way back from the defeat in the 2016 GrandSlam Final in Shanghai and kept Simone Segatori and Annette Sudol in the position of first runners-up.
