2023 WDSF World Championship Standard in Wuxi (CHN) 22/07/2023

2023 WDSF World Championship Standard in Wuxi (CHN) After a long but enchanting competition day the WDSF President Shawn Tay had the honor of presenting the prizes for the finalist couples of the 2023 WDSF World Championship Standard taking place in beautiful city of Wuxi. The Final started, continued and ended with spectacular dancing as the top six couples of the day outshined the sparkling and glowing floor, and the colour-changing venue packed with their peers and the astonished spectators.

There was no contest to Evaldas Sodeika – Ieva Zukauskaite (LTU) today with scores around 39.00 in all five dances, Quickstep earning them the highest scores of the day. The now three-times World Champions gave us one more glimpse of them at their best as their Dance of Honor was again Quickstep ending with huge applause and cheers from the crowd.

Tomas Fainsil – Violetta Fainsil (GER) had another memorable moments on the World Championship Final and the podium to add to their list of achievements. Last year the couple ranked the third, this time they managed to secure the second place and the World Championship silver medals. Also, the bronze medalists of the day Rares Cojoc – Andreea Matei (ROU) climbed up in rankings, from the fourth place last year to the third place at the World Championship today.

The final was completed with Dariusz Mycka – Marada Freiberga (POL) on the fourth place, Vadim Shurin – Anastasia Meshkova (LAT) on the fifth place, and to the great joy for the Chinese spectators, Yuan Shaoyang – Qi Chongxuan (CHN) on the sixth place.

All the couples in the final and earlier rounds demonstrated what a remarkable sport Standard dancing can be at its best.
