The only topic addressed by numerous JDSF representatives was breaking's road to Buenos Aires, ARG, where it will make its first appearance on the sports programme of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG). JDSF President Toshitsugu Saito, Managing Director Atsushi Yamada and some of the most renowned b-boys in Japan - and therefore in the entire world - presented a convincing case for "breaking for gold," the country's quest for a medal in the 2018 YOG.
B-Boy Katsu 1 was the most vocal of the group. The three-time winner of Freestyle Session Japan and various other top-level international competitions turned judge a few years ago and has now assumed the role of an organiser. As the Director of the JDSF Breaking Department, he will be chiefly responsible for planning and delivering the 2018 WDSF World Youth Breaking Championships. This event takes place in in Japan as the final stage of 2018 YOG qualifying. It determines the 12 b-boys and 12-b-girls who will go to battle in Buenos Aires.
Another two breaking legends from Japan, B-Boy Taisuke and B-Boy Issei, let their actions speak for them. They were the only two of the entire JDSF delegation not wearing the "b-boy formal" attire (crested blazer, white shirt, tie) and put on a very convincing demonstration. They will be Amabassadors for the 2018 World Championships held one year from now either in Tokyo or Kawasaki.
