DanceSport in Sochi 29/01/2014

Sochi 2014 © AP The Olympic Opening Ceremony to the Sochi Games will take place on 7 February, commencing at precisely 20:14 local time.

The organisers will no doubt be trying to outdo the extravagance of some of the recent Olympic ceremonies with spectacle, pageantry and plenty of local couleur.

While everybody is very secretive about the acts and the participants of the actual show part, DanceSport is definitely included.

"Over 400 dancers are currently getting ready in Krasnodar for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Sochi," a press release issued by the City of Sochi quotes Valentin Yudashkin, the President of the Russian DanceSport Union.

In fact, as per the release, "Sochy may become the dancing capital of Russia" with the Olympic Winter Games and their legacy in the host city.
