Good Ratings 02/01/2012

Esport 3 Esport 3, the sports channel affiliated with TV 3 Catalonia in northeastern Spain, was first to air the two highlight programmes on the Grand Slam Finals in Salou.

It did so during primetime hours on Christmas Eve and on Boxing Day. Particularly the Latin Final on 26 December performed exceptionally well, garnering the fourth-highest ratings in the channel's history.

This history may not yet be all that long - less than a year, in fact - but it is sparsed with quite a few football (FC Barcelona) gems already.

According to TV 3, the average share of 9.75% translates into an average audience of 250'000 viewers.

Much more than just respectable - particularly if one considers that both evenings had the other Spanish channels trying to outdo each other with their blockbusting line-ups.
