In Sochi, a very nice place located at the coast of the Black Sea, well known for hosting the Winter Olympic Games in 2014, the 3rd Festival “Vivat Russia” took place. The Russian DanceSport Federation, it`s President Mr. Pavel Dorokhov together with the organizers Mr. Vladimir Shturkin(DSC “Dynamo”) and Mr. Andrey Telnov (DSC “Diamond”) created the idea of organizing a Summer Dance Festival in Russia presenting International DanceSport on a very high level as well as National Russian Competitions for all age groups and categories at the seaside of the Black Sea. The combination of dance competitions and holiday feeling is very well accepted by the couples, trainers and officials. The competitors enjoyed the atmosphere in this very interesting venue : a theatre located on a plateau, app. 50 m above the shore, open to the seaside opening the view to the Black Sea.
The main events were the IDSF International Open Standard and Latin on Saturday and Sunday. There was an entry of more than 100 couples in each section. Unfortunately due to the rather exposed location and expensive travelling the competition was rather a “national” one.
