As in most other countries where similar shows have been popular for several years already, it has been argued that the format could induce the TV audiences to give dancing a try.
The Institute of Sports Sciences at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena has now embarked on research to quantify the impact of "Let's Dance" on DanceSport in Germany.
An online survey allows dance schools, clubs and other organisations to make their assessment of the show's impact and to report on possible increases in activities that can be traced to "Let's Dance." >> https://www.soscisurvey.de/Tanzen/
Germany is very obviously an ideal country for such a survey to be conducted. Hardly anywhere else is DanceSport as organised, structured and a priori popular as there. The German WDSF Member Body DTV can take pride in its active membership standing at 220,000 and being organised in more than 2,000 clubs.
