Over the coming days, it will take up the homepage and provide the followers with the trademark coverage they have come to expect over the years from the WDSF Communications team. Close to 100 of these blogs were published since worlddancesport.org was rolled out on 11 February 2011.
The last one was published in November on the 2014 World Standard in Vienna, AUT. And it was on that occasion that the WDSF Communications team came under heavy critique and stood accused of mentioning names of some of the pre-event contenders and outsiders with bias and partiality. As was the case then, the team's conscience remains clear today too (click here).
Nevertheless, the team has taken advantage of the three-months hiatus in the publishing cycle to review its procedures in generating coverage that is absolutely free of bias, objective and neutral at all times. Editorial guidelines were drafted and submitted to the Presidium for approval, an Operating Policy for the Communication Commission is currently being worked on.
Access the "Live from Helsinki" blog here! And yes, names of favourites and outsiders will again be mentioned, their photos and videos will get shown, but all of it from an editorial position that is - as it always has been - rigorously independent.
