"Remember: this is a choreography that will need to be grasped and learned by a lot of people. At least the main steps and movements. The choreography is made up of elements you find in Line Dance, HipHop, Salsa, Taike Dance and other styles. And most importantly, the wheelchair dancers must be able to perform it too."
"Do Your Dance in Kaohsiung" is the slogan of the inaugural World DanceSport Games. It is also the motto of the ambitious Project DYD, a call for everybody in the host city - hopefully more than 200,000 people altogether - to actively take part in the Games.
"Learn this dance, be a sport and join the games!"
When - on 20 September 2013 - thousands of Kaohsiung residents join 800 games participants in a flash mob-style performance to the sounds of Donna Summer's "Stamp Your Feet," we will likely witness a magic moment, one that only dance can produce.
