Pedro Toro 14/06/2015

Pedro Toro At the opening of the 2015 General Meeting (AGM) that is in progress in Granada, ESP, Pedro Toro, the director of the documentary that tells the wonderful story of the first World DanceSport Games in Kaohsiung, received the WDSF Distinguished Service Award for 2015.

The World DanceSport Federation thus recognised the significant contributions that Pedro made to DanceSport. As a producer and director for the GrandSlam Series he joined the WDSF Communications team in 2012 and started to shape the way the sport looks on television today.

With his 69-minute documentary "Do your dance" he won the first prize award at the International Sports Film Festival in Baku, AZE, in November 2014. As was the case then, Pedro was not able to be present in Granada either and it was again Communication Commission chair Heidi Goetz who received the Distinguished Service award on his behalf.

During the 2015 Open Forum that preceded today's AGM Pedro's latest work premiered in the context of reports on DanceSport's campaign to get included in the Tokyo 2020 Games. Here it is!
