Sharks and Jets 08/12/2014

Bremen, GER - 6 December © Roland Much had been written about the 2014 World DanceSport Championship Latin Formation in the local media ahead of the event, but in the end it was the dancing that counted.

The home formation Grün-Gold-Club Bremen revalidated its title won in 2013 with a spectacular new routine. Images from "Westside Story," Leonard Bernstein's evergreen tunes and, above all, a great choreography as well as performance made the difference.

That the ladies of the "Sharks" and the "Jets," the two Upper Westside gangs in the libretto, were able to distinguish themselves only through the colour of their hair, well, that just didn't matter.

Runners-up in the World Championship were the two Russian formation DUET Prem and Vrea Tyumen. Over the course of this week we will release videos of all routines that were performed in Bremen. Stay tuned.
