Star Couples 04/07/2016

Antwerp, BEL - 5 February

397 couples have entered the 2016 World DanceSport Championship Senior III Standard, making it the biggest ever.

Scheduling for a championship with that many participants is not easy, but dancing it should prove even more difficult.

The WDSF Sports Commission decides to award stars to make it easier on the top-ranked couples. Here is the ruling for exemption from rounds 1 and 2.

One Star - Exemption from Round One

  • Couples ranked 25th through 48th in the Senior III World Ranking Standard
  • Couples that have finished in in the places 13 through 24 in the 2015 World CHampionships Senior III Standard
  • The above couples start dancing from Round Two.

Two Stars - Exemption  from Rounds One and Two (2)

  • Couples ranked 1st through 24th in the Senior III World Ranking Standard
  • Couples that have finished in in the places 1 through 12 in the 2015 World CHampionships Senior III Standard
  • The above couples start dancing from Round Three (3)
