The Olympic Qualifier Series 12/10/2023

Paris 2024 Qualification The world of DanceSport, specifically the thrilling discipline of Breaking, is gearing up for its qualification journey. The World DanceSport Federation is delighted to unveil the host cities and respective dates for each stop, as a vital part of our partnership with the Olympic Qualifier Series. This esteemed initiative seamlessly connects urban culture with elite sports, all leading up to the monumental Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Embraced as a pivotal endeavor within the Olympic Agenda 2020+5, this festival-like series unfurls in an electrifying ambiance against urban panoramas. With spotlight on sports such as Breaking, BMX freestyle, skateboarding, and sport climbing, athletes from diverse disciplines will gather for an exhilarating competition spanning four days. The fervor linked to these events is undeniable, evidenced by the Shanghai series slated for 16 to 19 May 2024 by the scenic Huangpu Riverside.

Moreover, it is crucial to mention that only two OQS stops will transpire. The second stop is confirmed for Budapest, from 20 to 23 June 2024.

WDSF President Mr. Shawn Tay remarks, "The vision of WDSF has always been to elevate DanceSport on the global stage. Witnessing the amalgamation of our athletes' passion with the spirit of the Olympic Games is a testament to years of dedication and hard work. The Olympic Qualifier Series marks not just a chapter in sports, but a legacy in the making."

B-Girl Yell from the Republic of Korea aptly encapsulates the series' essence, expressing, "The Olympic Qualifier Series is very exciting for me. They represent the final attempt, the decisive moment, the concluding stride before the climax. It's the suspenseful interlude bridging our achievements to our aspirations... A truly enchanting ambiance awaits!"

Breaking, enriched by its profound legacy and worldwide allure, is set to be a major attraction. For our athletes, their path to Paris 2024 isn't merely a personal landmark but emblematic of Breaking's esteemed standing in the sporting universe. B-Boy Wing, also hailing from the Republic of Korea, resonates with this excitement, revealing, “The Olympic Qualifier Series, being the penultimate challenge before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, promises fierce competition. But I am resolute to clinch my spot, for it promises an elevated performance sphere and a foretaste of the Olympic milieu. The intensity I anticipate there will be a precursor to what the Olympics hold."
