The Crystal Palace Cup – held in the ILEC Conference Centre at the IBIS Earls Court in London last weekend – has been growing since its first edition. Not only in terms of numbers of entries or nations, this year's edition was also upgraded to World Open.
The couples enjoyed dancing in such nice and elegant atmosphere. An enthusiastic audience got to see high level DanceSport in Standard as well as in Latin.
The 2012 winners in Latin, Valentin Voronov and Alina Imrekova, RUS, repeated by taking 1st in this year's competition too. Their dancing was well prepared and dedicated. In the runners-up position were Joel Lopez and Kristina Bespechnova, AND. Different in their performance and style: expressive and playing with the audience.
Simone Segatori and Annette Sudol, GER, took 1st in all dances in Standard. They showed really great dancing. Dmitry Zharkov and Olga Kulikova, RUS, came in second: impressive in their musicality.
Olga and Nick also make great efforts in promoting competition dancing and making it popular with beginners. It was really great for all the beginner couples – Adults and Juniors – to be on the same floor as their „Stars and Idols“ and to show what they have learned so far.
The competitors enjoyed the great conditions they were provided with - and you could hear them say: "We will come back next year, for sure!"
