Rumba Syllabus DVD

The IDSF DanceSport Academy releases the first syllabus DVDs as part of its mission to serve as the knowledge repository and state-of-the-art educational platform for DanceSport. Rumba and Viennese Waltz are the first dances featured.

The Rumba Syllabus DVD is presented by Barbara Nagode Ambroz and features as demonstrators Zoran Plohl and Tatsiana Lahvinovich (CRO). The DVD contains the full IDSF Rumba Syllabus which is the synthesis of the IDTA and ISTD syllabus. Each figure is demonstrated first to rhythm and then to music. The figures are divided into three levels of difficulty and at the conclusion  of each level there is a demonstration of a short combination of basic figures. This DVD also has a section on the history of Rhumba with some documentary footage filmed in Havana, Cuba.

IDSF Viennese Waltz Syllabus The Viennese Waltz DVD is presented by Michael Herdlitzka, and the demonstrators are Simone Segatori and Annette Sudol. It contains basic Syllabus plus the additional competitive figures allowed by the IDSF It. also has chapters on history of the dance,  music, exercise to develop swing and turn and offers advice on how to fight common faults.

The aim of this project is to standardise the IDSF Syllabus and to provide valuable information to all the teachers, adjudicators and dancers who are part of the worldwide DanceSport family.
