Introduction
The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) Scrutineering Congress is a comprehensive educational program designed to train and certify scrutineers responsible for the accurate processing, calculation, and management of competition results in WDSF-sanctioned DanceSport events. This congress provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively perform scrutineering duties according to WDSF standards and requirements.
Objectives
- Train licensed and aspiring WDSF scrutineers in the latest techniques and software
- Provide education on WDSF judging systems and result calculation methods
- Ensure standardized competition result management across WDSF events
- Maintain the integrity of DanceSport competitions through proper scrutineering practices
- Fulfil educational requirements for licensed WDSF scrutineers (valid for two years)
Pre-requisite
For Licensed WDSF Scrutineers (Renewal/Upgrade)
- WDSF Registration - Must be registered with the WDSF as an active scrutineer
- Technical Knowledge - Working knowledge of basic computer operations and network configurations
- Previous Experience - Demonstration of practical experience in scrutineering at WDSF or national-level competitions
- Software Familiarity - Experience with at least one WDSF-certified scrutineering software package
- Language Proficiency - Sufficient English comprehension to understand technical instructions
For New Applicants
- National Member Body (NMB) Endorsement - Must submit application via their National Member Body to the WDSF Academy
- Technical Background - Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations and basic networking
- Dance Knowledge - Fundamental understanding of DanceSport competition structures and rules
- Language Requirement - Sufficient English comprehension skills
- Age Requirement - Minimum 21 years of age
- Examination Readiness - Prepared to take a physical congress and pass the corresponding examination to obtain a license (observation status is granted for first-time attendees)
Technical Requirements
- Personal Laptop - Attendees should bring a laptop computer with:
- Windows 10 or higher operating system
- Minimum 8GB RAM
- At least 100GB free disk space
- Administrator access rights
- Working Wi-Fi capability
- Network Configuration Knowledge - Basic understanding of IP addressing and network troubleshooting
Certification Process
- Licensed scrutineers attending the congress will maintain their active status for two years
- New applicants will be permitted to attend as observers
- Following observation, new applicants must attend a physical congress and pass the examination
- License categories (B and A) have different requirements and responsibilities
- Examination will cover WDSF Scrutineering principles and Skating System
