Solo and Couple Discipline Licences

Can an athlete hold both a Solo Discipline Licence and a Couple Discipline Licence at the same time?

No. In accordance with WDSF Regulations, an athlete must hold either a Solo Discipline Licence or a Couple Discipline Licence, but not both simultaneously. Athletes may only participate in competitions corresponding to their active licence.

Can an athlete holding a Couple Discipline Licence participate in Solo competitions?

No. Athletes holding a Couple Discipline Licence (Standard, Latin, or Ten Dance) are not permitted to participate in Solo competitions (Solo Standard, Solo Latin, or Solo Ten Dance) while their Couple Licence remains active.

Can an athlete holding a Solo Discipline Licence participate in Couple competitions?

No. Athletes holding a Solo Discipline Licence are not eligible to participate in Couple competitions while the Solo Licence is active.

Is there a waiting period when switching from a Couple Discipline Licence to a Solo Discipline Licence?

Yes. Athletes wishing to switch from a Couple Discipline Licence to a Solo Discipline Licence must observe a mandatory waiting period of three (3) months. This period begins from the date of application for the Solo Discipline Licence, which will only take effect once the waiting period has elapsed.

Is there a waiting period when switching from a Solo Discipline Licence to a Couple Discipline Licence?

No. Athletes holding a Solo Discipline Licence may be registered with a Couple Discipline Licence without any mandatory waiting period.
