Record of Participation as Istanbul Prepares for 2026 WDSF World Championships Stage Dance

Registration figures for the upcoming 2026 WDSF World Championships Stage Dance have officially shattered previous benchmarks, establishing November's five-day event in Istanbul as one of the largest gatherings in WDSF Stage Dance history.

With 1,566 athletes representing 19 countries, the championships, scheduled to take place at The Green Park Pendik Hotel & Convention Center from 11 to 15 November 2026, will feature a total of 946 entries across solo and team divisions. This marks a notable 33% overall increase in solo and team entries across the expanded programme compared to the 2025 WDSF World Championships Stage Dance.

Exponential Growth Across Disciplines

The substantial rise in athlete numbers underscores the expanding global appeal of WDSF Stage Dance disciplines, which encompass Modern & Contemporary, Jazz Dance, and Show Dance.

Solo categories have experienced an extraordinary surge, climbing by almost 60% from 2025’s edition to 510 registrations in 2026. Team events have similarly expanded, with 409 groups taking to the floor, an 11% increase over the 368 teams fielded in 2025.

Adding to the excitement, the 2026 edition debuts dedicated Open Juvenile competitions alongside the premier World Championship roster, an inspiring expansion that invites the world’s most promising young prodigies to share the global spotlight with established icons.

A Unified Global Stage in Istanbul

Jointly organised by the Bodrum Dance Club and coordinated by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), the 2026 event consolidates all competition, accommodation, and warm-up facilities under one roof at the Green Park Pendik. The venue will host intense five-day brackets spanning solos, duos, small groups, and large-scale team showcases.

As preparations accelerate, the WDSF and local Turkish organisers are finalising live-stream setups to bring every performance to a global audience. Detailed timetables, ticketing and more details are available via the event page.
