Meet The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Athletes: The Story Of B-Boy Gera
16-year-old, Herohi Salavei (B-Boy Gera), who placed among the top 10 at the Youth Breaking World Championships in Porto, Portugal, in August 2025 is one of the young promises in Breaking. In a recent interview, he shared that as a young breaker, he would have never imagined that he would be representing his country at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, where he will represent Belarus in just a couple of weeks.
Gera opened up about the current Breaking scene in Belarus, expressing his excitement about its steady growth. With every passing year, the local community is becoming bigger and stronger. As Gera noted:
“People are still reaching quite a high level; everyone in the country motivates each other to develop.”
This strong sense of community has been a cornerstone of his athletic journey, not only in representing his nation, but also his crew, Tutejsyja, home to some of Belarus’s top competitive B-Boys and B-Girls.
The Breakthrough And Revelation
Sharing the moment that completely transformed his career as a Breaker, Gera’s turning point came in 2019, Breaking in France, when his team placed 2nd and he realized he was able to perform in international competitions of that level. From there on, he and his team embarked on a journey to reach the highest level of Breaking worldwide.
In the near future, besides excelling at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Gera wants to achieve the highest level of sports training. Entering the adult category, he looks forward to continuing to win medals internationally. As a young B-Boy, he also wants to “generally establish oneself in Breaking”, as he says.
Relentlessness And Dreaming Big
When asked about a message he would like to share to other athletes in the Breaking scene, B-Boy Gera motivates them to never doubt themselves and believe in their dreams. Going beyond fears and being determined is something he emphasized; but beyond that, he invites younger generations to take care of themselves and their health. As athletes often push themselves to extreme limits, Gera’s invitation is a reminder that growth also comes from knowing when to stop.
“Try new things… become special in Breaking and never forget about your health” – B-Boy Gera.
