WDSF Presidium Approves Amendments to the Operating Policy on Rules for Hip-Hop Choreography
The WDSF Presidium has approved amendments to the WDSF Presidium Operating Policy on Rules for Hip-Hop Choreography, following the conclusion of the voting process. These amendments aim to clarify, modernise, and harmonise the Operating Policy, ensuring greater consistency, transparency, and operational efficiency in the organisation and adjudication of Hip-Hop Choreography competitions.
The revised policy improves the clarity of definitions, refines competition formats and categories, and updates the judging system to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of performances. Additional measures have also been introduced to safeguard the youngest athletes participating in title events. These changes do not alter the fundamental structure or intent of the discipline but ensure that competitions are conducted in a clear, fair, and transparent manner.
Shawn Tay, WDSF President, commented:
"These amendments mark an important step forward in supporting the continued growth and professionalism of Hip-Hop Choreography. With these clearer rules and enhanced guidance, we aim to guarantee that competitions are conducted fairly and transparently, offering a positive and enriching experience for all athletes, while protecting the welfare of our youngest participants."
WDSF remains committed to upholding the integrity of DanceSport and providing organisers, judges, and athletes with the guidance necessary to deliver world-class competitions.
