Rhythms of Thessaloniki: 2026 WDSF European DanceSport Championships

Thessaloniki, Greece, 3 and 4 April – The heart of Thessaloniki came alive the past weekend at the Convention Center Ioannis Vellidis, as the city proudly hosted the Thessaoliniki Dance Festival 2026, with the awaited WDSF European DanceSport Championships Choreographic Latin Teams. The event welcomed more than 1,000 competitors in WDSF categories, with around 2,400 spectators in attendance, creating a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere over three days of world-class competition.

The event was honoured by the presence of Mrs. K. Giannakidou, Depute Mayor of Sports of Thessaloniki, who shared her appreciation for the athletes and organisers:

The 2026 Championships featured a rich programme of competitions, combining elite WDSF categories and Open events. Participants represented a diverse array of countries, reflecting the global reach and growing popularity of the event. The organisers received excellent feedback from dancers, coaches, and local authorities, promising strong support for the next edition. In their words:

"We hope that everyone had a great experience, and we promise that we will continue our effort to deliver outstanding events for the glory of all athletes and DanceSport!"

Reflecting on the event, WDSF President Shawn Tay commented:
