Cambrils DanceSport 2026: Celebrating Over 15 Years of International Prestige

The coastal town of Cambrils came alive from 3–5 April 2026, as the Cambrils DanceSport event unfolded at the Pavelló Municipal d’Esports, featuring a diverse programme of national, international, and European Championship competitions. A total of 37 solo participants, 181 couples, and 38 teams took part, representing 721 athletes from 30 countries.

Organised by the Federación Española de Baile Deportivo (FEBD), the event has been a fixture on the competitive calendar for over 15 years. Under FEBD’s leadership, Cambrils has become a platform for innovation in DanceSport, hosting the first World Championship of Choreographic Dance and the first European Championship of Choreographic Hip Hop. The event also includes the Iberian Circuit, held annually between Spain and Portugal, and in 2026 welcomed more than 2,000 entries, reflecting the scale and organisational complexity of this international competition.

A dedicated team of more than 75 professionals, covering stage design, lighting and sound, technical operations, streaming, DJ and speaker duties, and scrutineering, ensures that each edition runs smoothly. As Luis Vañó, President of FEBD, noted:

“Cambrils has become a prestigious international event thanks to the commitment and professionalism of everyone involved.”

The 2026 edition also followed a historic moment for Spanish DanceSport, with the country’s first-ever WDSF GrandSlam victory by the couple Guillem Pascual and Illes Diandra-Aniela, just a week early at the 2026 WDSF DanceSport Festival in Blackpool.

With athletes, judges, and teams from across the globe converging on this vibrant Mediterranean venue, the three days of competition offered excitement, artistry, and elite‑level DanceSport at its finest.

Closing Reflections on an Exceptional Cambrils DanceSport

Reflecting on the 2026 Cambrils DanceSport, WDSF President Shawn Tay said,

“Hosting such a distinguished event year after year enriches the global calendar and offers athletes an unparalleled platform to showcase their artistry and skill.”

The event once again demonstrated the unique combination of high-level competition, innovation, and cultural richness that has made Cambrils a highlight of the international DanceSport calendar.

Beyond the competition floor, athletes, coaches, and spectators were able to experience the welcoming atmosphere of the city, from its vibrant streets and local gastronomy to the warm hospitality of the community. The 2026 edition also celebrated the ongoing legacy of Cambrils as a venue where emerging talent can shine alongside established champions, and where new disciplines and creative formats continue to be introduced, reinforcing its role as a centre of innovation in DanceSport. As the final music faded and the participants departed, the event closed with a sense of shared achievement and international unity, leaving athletes and fans alike inspired and looking forward to the next edition of this prestigious festival.
