The Brisbane World Breaking DanceSport Festival 2026 will take place on 17–18 January 2026 at the iconic Brisbane City Hall, bringing the dynamic world of Breaking to the heart of the city. As an official WDSF event, the festival will unite elite athletes, officials, media and spectators in a celebration of creativity, athleticism and urban culture. Volunteering at the Brisbane World Breaking DanceSport Festival offers a unique opportunity to experience an international DanceSport event from the inside while contributing to a world-class production. Applications are welcomed from volunteers in Brisbane and surrounding areas, members of the Australian dance community, DanceSport and Breaking enthusiasts, as well as students and young professionals interested in sport and event management. A limited number of international volunteers may also be considered. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Shawn Tay, WDSF President, says:
“Volunteers are at the heart of every WDSF event. Their commitment, energy and professionalism help create the environment in which athletes can perform at their best and audiences can enjoy an unforgettable experience. We are proud to welcome volunteers who want to be part of the global Breaking and DanceSport community.”
Why volunteer?
Volunteers will receive official WDSF accreditation and work one shift per competition day, with meals and refreshments provided during their shift. When not on duty, volunteers will have free access to the event, allowing them to experience the excitement of the battles and ceremonies firsthand. All volunteers will also receive a WDSF certificate of participation, recognising their contribution and providing valuable international experience.
Volunteers support the festival across a wide range of operational areas, including front of house and audience services, accreditation and access control, athlete and call room support, field of play operations, results and ceremonies, media assistance, logistics and general event operations. Every role contributes directly to the smooth and professional delivery of the competition.
Be part of the team that brings the Brisbane World Breaking DanceSport Festival 2026 to life. Volunteers gain unique insight into an international event while supporting athletes, audiences, and the vibrant Breaking community.
