Historic First: Australia to Host Inaugural WDSF Open Solo Latin Female Events in Oceania
The global DanceSport community turns its eyes Down Under this August as Queensland’s Sunshine Coast prepares to host a landmark weekend of high-caliber international competition.
History will be made on Saturday, 29 August 2026, as the Fire Up &Golden Rose DanceSport Open 2026 officially brings the WDSF Open Solo Latin Female categories to Oceania for the very first time. Hosted at Venue 114 on the scenic Sunshine Coast, this landmark event introduces prestigious international solo points and ranking opportunities for three key age groups:
WDSF Open Solo Latin Female Juvenile II
WDSF Open Solo Latin Female Junior II
WDSF Open Solo Latin Female Adult.
This milestone reflects the rapid growth of the Solo Latin competition format worldwide, offering female athletes a dedicated global platform to showcase their athleticism, musicality, and technique.
Two Days of Unmissable Action
Organized by Jively Events in partnership with DanceSport Australia (DSA) and WDSF, the event spans 28–29 August 2026. Beyond the feature WDSF Solo Latin events, attendees will experience a full weekend of national and open competition: a full DSA Championship Program covering all age divisions and diverse disciplines.
