The German city of Bremen claimed the spotlight of the international DanceSport community as the Congress Centrum Bremen successfully hosted the highly anticipated Bremen DanceSport Festival from 26–28 June 2026. Under the guidance of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) and the Grün-Gold-Club Bremen e.V., the three-day extravaganza delivered a masterclass in athletic precision, yielding historic milestones, multiple World Championship crowns, and crucial world ranking points.

To accommodate the great scale of the weekend, the tournament utilized an expansive multi-floor setup, running simultaneous action across three dedicated halls. The event’s immense global appeal was evidenced by a staggering 1,297 registrations, bringing together elite athletes representing 43 nations alongside intense domestic brackets from the Deutscher Tanzsportverband e.V.

The vibrant atmosphere drew approximately 1,600 passionate spectators across the weekend, with a packed house on Saturday evening creating an electric backdrop for the weekend’s defining dances. The event also enjoyed prestigious institutional backing, highlighted by the presence of distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Eva Quante-Brandt, President of the Bremen State Sports Federation, and Ulrich Mäurer, Former Senator of Bremen. Reflecting on the festival's deep cultural and athletic impact, the local dignitaries remarked:

"It was a wonderful evening! It is clear that DanceSport is a top sport in Bremen!"

Friday 26 June: Technical Brilliance Sets the Stage

The competitive itinerary commenced with demanding early dances and specialized fields across the Congress Centrum Bremen. Friday's program established a high technical benchmark, capturing the elegance of the Senior categories and launching the initial stages of a packed weekend schedule.

The competitive intensity reached its absolute zenith on Saturday, culminating in a spectacular Gala Night, breathtaking performances, and a world-class competitive showcase. The main floor was set ablaze as the Hansesaal hosted the high-stakes finals of the International Open alongside the climax of the World Junior II Latin Championship.

Sunday 28 June: Solo Latin History is Rewritten

The final day of action was dedicated to the fast-evolving Solo Latin disciplines, producing a historic afternoon that will be remembered as a landmark turning point in WDSF history.

WDSF World Championship Solo Latin Female Adult

Italy’s Rosa Granato delivered a performance for the ages in the World Championship Solo Latin Female Adult competition. By capturing the gold medal, Granato rewrote the record books to become the first solo Latin athlete in WDSF history to win 2 European Championships and 2 World Championships. This achievement officially places her as the most decorated Title Event athlete in Solo Latin history, surpassing the historic achievements of the iconic Alessia Pecchia.

Adding to the historic nature of the afternoon, the Solo Latin Female Adult podium witnessed another groundbreaking first: for the first time in WDSF history, two solo Latin athletes from Vietnam stood together on a World Championship podium, showcasing the incredible global expansion and rising dominance of the Asian continent in the solo categories.
