Calling all athletes, coaches, and Caribbean Dances enthusiasts worldwide: it is time to intensify your training and mark your calendars! The countdown to the WDSF Caribbean Dances World Championships 2026 has officially begun.

Taking place in the beautiful coastal city of Alicante, Spain, from 9 to 12 October 2026, this flagship event promises to be a landmark celebration of global rhythm and artistry. To make this year’s edition even more extraordinary, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is delighted to announce a significant expansion to the official programme. A total of nine new World Championship titles have been introduced, raising the overall count to an unprecedented twenty-one World Championship titles.

Whether you compete as a solo performer, in a duo, or with a partner, Alicante 2026 offers expanded opportunities to showcase your talent on the world stage.

These nine additions complement the twelve previously announced Solo Shine World Championships for Adult, Youth, and Junior athletes (Salsa and Bachata, Female and Male). Younger emerging athletes will also have the opportunity to shine in the WDSF Open Juvenile Solo Shine categories.
