Three Cities, One Passion: DanceSport in Raszyn, Chisinau and Zalaegerszeg

The weekend of 11–13 October 2025 marked a remarkable celebration of DanceSport across Europe, with three major competitions showcasing some of the finest talent on the continent. From Poland to Moldova and Hungary, athletes of all ages and levels came together to compete at the highest international standards, captivating thousands of spectators and reinforcing the global appeal of this dynamic and elegant discipline. Each event not only highlighted technical skill and artistic expression but also brought communities together, with local authorities, dignitaries, and cultural leaders supporting the growth of DanceSport across the region. 

Raszyn Top Dance Open 2025 – A Spectacular Start to the Weekend

Kicking off an exhilarating weekend of DanceSport, the Raszyn Top Dance Open 2025 brought together over 200 participants in WDSF categories representing 12 countries. Held at the Sports Hall Raszyn, area of Warsaw (Poland), on 11–12 October 2025, this event was the first of the major competitions held over the weekend.

In total, more than 900 couples competed across all divisions, evaluated by over 40 adjudicators from 12 countries, ensuring the highest standards of international judging. From the very first rhythm, the energy in the hall was palpable.

The event attracted an enthusiastic audience of around 1,300 spectators, who filled the Raszyn Sports Hall and celebrated two full days of top-level DanceSport. The crowd’s energy and applause highlighted the excitement and dedication of the competitors.

Highlights and Key Results of the Competition

The Raszyn Top Dance Open 2025 featured a wide range of categories, showcasing the talent and dedication of dancers across different age groups and levels. The categories contested during the competition were:

This diverse lineup, that also included the WDSF Latin Under 21, Latin Junior II and Standard Junior II categories, allowed both emerging talents and more experienced couples to compete on an international stage, providing spectators with a dynamic and engaging DanceSport experience.

The event also featured the Polish Championships for Juvenile and Junior I couples, held under the patronage of the Polish DanceSport Federation. This provided a unique opportunity for young Polish talents to observe elite international dancers, learn from their performances, and find motivation for their own sporting development.

By combining national and international events under one roof, the Top Dance Open 2025 contributed significantly to promoting WDSF competitions in Poland and strengthening the recognition of DanceSport as a dynamic and globally respected discipline.

Distinguished Guests

Among the honored guests were representatives of:

  • Polish DanceSport Federation
  • Mazovian DanceSport Association
  • Local government officials from Pruszków, Łomianki, and Raszyn
  • Starosta of Pruszków County
  • Event sponsors and numerous supporters of Polish sport and culture

Their presence added prestige to the event and showcased the wide-reaching support for DanceSport in the region.

The 2025 Raszyn Top Dance Open was co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland and the Pruszków County Office, with additional support from the Mazovian Voivodeship and local partners. Their contribution helped promote physical activity, youth engagement, and community participation through sport and dance.

Chisinau DanceSport Gala 2025 – A Celebration of International Talent”

Following the excitement of the Raszyn Top Dance Open 2025, the weekend continued with another major highlight in the DanceSport calendar: an international competition held at the Palace of the Republic (Chisinau), a prestigious multi-purpose building serving as both a concert and theatre hall in the heart of Chisinau.

The event attracted an impressive 900 athletes from 32 countries, representing numerous clubs across Europe and beyond. Over 3,000 spectators attended throughout the competition, filling the venue with palpable energy and enthusiasm.

The competition featured a rich programme of performances, with dancers competing at the highest level and showcasing their artistry, technical skill, and dedication. Highlights included memorable performances by the winning couples, with both the standard and Latin categories demonstrating the depth of international talent present.

WDSF World Championship Standard Junior II

The Moldavian couple Stefan Mantu and Emiliana Procopciuc claimed a memorable victory on home soil, their triumph met with an outpouring of emotion before an ecstatic crowd. The pair’s heartfelt celebration captured the hearts of fans worldwide and has since gone viral, with the unforgettable moment available to watch on the WDSF social media channels.

It provided an invaluable opportunity for local audiences to witness international-level competition firsthand and for young Moldovan athletes to draw inspiration from some of the world’s finest dancers.

By hosting such a high-calibre event in Chisinau, organisers strengthened the city’s reputation as a key hub for international DanceSport while fostering community engagement, cultural exchange, and enthusiasm for physical activity. 

Zalaegerszeg DanceSport Championship 2025 – A Showcase of Excellence

The weekend of DanceSport excitement concluded in Hungary, at the Sportcsarnok Zeg in Zalaegerszeg (Hungary), a modern facility hosting both local and international sporting events.

The event brought together a total of 180 registrations — 110 couples and 70 solo dancers — from 17 countries, including Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Türkiye.

An audience of around 350–400 spectators was expected, creating an enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere for the competitors.

The competition was honoured by the presence of a Member of the Hungarian Parliament and the Vice Mayor of Zalaegerszeg, highlighting the local importance of the event and the community’s support for sport and youth engagement.

The following day, the venue hosted the Hungarian Formation Championship, featuring participation from 56 teams, further emphasising Zalaegerszeg’s role as a hub for national-level DanceSport competitions.

By bringing together athletes from across Europe, this event not only showcased the skill and dedication of the competitors but also strengthened international cooperation, cultural exchange, and the visibility of DanceSport in Hungary.

Inspiring Performances Across Borders

By the end of the weekend, audiences across Raszyn, Chisinau, and Zalaegerszeg had witnessed a truly extraordinary series of competitions, from emerging youth talents to seasoned international couples. These events demonstrated the power of DanceSport to unite athletes and spectators from different countries, foster cultural exchange, and promote healthy, active lifestyles. With outstanding performances, enthusiastic audiences, and strong institutional support, the weekend firmly established itself as a memorable chapter in the 2025 DanceSport calendar, leaving both participants and fans inspired and looking forward to future competitions.
