Kitakyushu is in southern Japan and seven hours ahead of Central European Summer Time. Yesterday, on 9 July, the city with a population of close to one million played host to 62 couples taking part in the 2016 World Youth Standard.
Rednic Paul - Lucaciu Roxana, ROU, won the championship on the strength of their Viennese Waltz and Quickstep with a margin of a little more than three points over Latvians Denis Gudovsky - Megija Dana Morite. Third place went to Yahor Boldysh - Polina Mineeva, BLR. All Youth World Championships are henceforth adjudicated with Judging System 2.1.
