Following the recent success of the 2014 IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport European Championships in Lomianki, POL, in November, the sport is asking for expressions of interest by 10 March.
The 2013 World Championships were held in Tokyo, JPN, and attracted over 160 athletes from 20 countries. That competition led to the addition of the very first Asian Pacific Cup in Beijing, CHN, in 2014, and another competition in Astana, KAZ.
Xavier Gonzalez, IPC CEO, believes that potential organisers have an opportunity to raise the profile of their cities and venues and be part of the growth of Wheelchair DanceSport.
"Lomianki 2014 attracted great interest from the public, including the attendance of one of the biggest news agencies in the world, national TV coverage and the Patronage of the First Lady of Poland.
"The potential for cities and countries to be part of this legacy and enter the history books of wheelchair dance by organising the biggest competition on the calendar is huge."
In addition to Latin and Standard dances, in 2015 the competition programme will include singles and freestyle, which made successful international debuts at Lomianki 2014.
Organisers have until 10 March to submit their expressions of interest to host the 2015 IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport World Championships.
