Common Ground 25/08/2017

FIBA 3x3 World Tour © FIBA

There is plenty of common ground between 3x3 basketball, the urban variation of the traditional game invented by James Naismith, and breaking. Both have emerged at about the same time and in virtually the same place - nearly 50 years ago, in determined parts of New York City - and have since conquered the world. But more about that later ...

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters in Lausanne, SUI, will bring the two sports together in what should turn out to be a congenial side-by-side.

Top breakers will go to battle between the pool games of the Lausanne Masters today. Four b-boys from Switzerland and four representing the rest of the world will face off during two 30-minute interludes scheduled from 17:25 to 17:55 and from 19:20 to 19:55 UTC/GMT on the first day of the tournament. A player with the live stream will be embedded here. Stay tuned!
