A 1 vs 1 Breaking Battle featuring b-boys from five countries took place during the fourth stage of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2018 in the Olympic Capital of Lausanne today.

B-boy Sunni from Great Britain was declared the winner by judges Red (AUS), Renegade (UK), and Ciska (SUI) after an intense back and forth with B-boy Moa of Switzerland in the final.

“I’m really happy. Everyone has their day and today was just my day, apparently,” said Sunni, who will also compete during the fifth stage of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour in Debrecen, Hungary from 30-31 August. “I won’t change anything, just do my thing,” Sunni said of his approach to the next competition.

The breaking event was organised by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) together with Amjad H Khan (7$) in partnership with FIBA3x3.

Also making the quarterfinals were Tim (NED) and David (SUI), while Baby OG (MEX), Calle (SUE), Moussa (SUI), and Lil Switch (SUI) also took part in the competition.

“Very little separated the finalists, who both brought passion and confidence,” said Renegade. “In fact, the level and spirit of competition was excellent all day. We are expecting the same kind of intensity in Buenos Aires in October during the Youth Olympic Games.”

The WDSF is preparing for Breaking’s debut at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires this 6-18 October.

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour features 10 stages in total, starting in Saskatoon, Canada on 21-22 July and ending in Beijing on 27-28 October.

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour events are true urban culture festivals, organised in the heart of the cities against the most iconic landmarks and feature non-stop music and MCs calling the games, professional dunkers, breakers and other street artists. They are in line with FIBA's “3x3 for everyone philosophy” as spectators and passers-by are invited to participate in 3x3 games and activities.
