The Netherlands Ready For YOG 20/09/2018

The Netherlands' Youth Olympic Team kick-off took place on 18 September, when all 40 Dutch YOG athletes, including NADB B-Girl Vicky Bergmans, were invited to the Dutch National Olympic Committee Headquarters in Papendal (NED). All YOG athletes received the official NL National Team uniform and they were introduced one by one to the media.

As of today, Team NL coordinates the preparations of the Dutch Youth Olympic Team - under the leadership and supervision of the Chef de Mission, Mr. Mark Huizinga, a former World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo. 

Jeffrey van Meerkerk, President of the NADB, reports from the Netherlands:

As the National Member Body, we are very proud that for the first time in history, DanceSport is officially part of the Olympic program at the 2018 YOG - and of course that one of the Dutch athletes is representing NADB and WDSF at the Youth Olympic Games.


NADB Sports Conmission Member Ms. Hannie van der Geest attended this important day in history of DanceSport in Netherlands. We all look fowrward to seeing Vicky and all b-boys and b-girls competing in Buenos Aires.

B-girls' battle will start in the afternon of October 7th, 2018. Livestream will be available on the Breaking for Gold Facebook page, through the Olympic Channel signal.
