After lasy year's World Senior I Ten Dance, it was the World Senior II Standard that got the top billing at the 2011 Mallorca DanceSport Challenge in Calvià, ESP.

222 couples entered a World Championship that was well deserving of the title as 24 nations from four continents were represented on 30 April.

True, Europeans made for the lion's share, and among them it was the Germans who impressively demonstrated that Mallorca is their preferred travel destination. 101 couples danced under the "black, red and gold" flag. The 24 Italian couples were the second strongest contingent.

A news report (in Catalan) by Mallorca TV captured the atmosphere that was made even more international by 500 couples dancing in the other competitions of this year's Challenge. Gabriel Riera and Francisca Barceló, the organisers, have succeeded in making Mallorca a premier destination in DanceSport.
