2023 WDSF GrandSlam Standard Series Final in Shanghai (CHN) 12/12/2023

2023 WDSF GrandSlam Standard Final Shanghai is officially China's largest and certainly its most dazzling city. The dazzle reached a new level on Sunday as thetwelve highest ranked Standard couples of the 2023 WDSF GrandSlam Series entered the city and the dancefloor, and amazed everyone with their elegant yet athletic performances.

Alexey Glukhov – Anastasia Glazunova (MDA) ended their GrandSlam season with a jackpot. After winning all three legs of the Series earlier this year the couple entered the Shanghai Finals favourites to have their names written on the GrandSlam Final Table of Honor. This did not make them settle for the standard level performance – instead they pushed harder than ever, although making it seem effortless. In the end, their dancing was rewarded with high scores and the highly desired title of the 2023 WDSF GrandSlam Final winners.

Having an amazing season behind, Rares Cojoc – Andreea Matei (ROU) again impressed everyone with their elegance, earning them the silver medals with a clear margin. The battle for the bronze, however, could not have been tighter. There were three couples almost tied in scores until the very last dance of the final.Dmitri Kolobov – Signe Busk (DEN) won the bronze before Dariusz Mycka – Madara Freiberga (POL) with a margin of only 0,082 points in scores. The fifth place went to Vadim Shurin – Anastasia Meshkova (LAT) with only 0,459 points behind the Polish couple. Marco Bodini - Kristina Charitonovaite (LTU) made it to their first GrandSlam Final and ranked 6th.

A truly amazing end to an exciting 2023 WDSF GrandSlam Series! Shanghai did it again by demonstrating once again how the DanceSport Superstars of the world attract the audiences all over the world by their captivating performances and presence combined with their athleticism and precision of movement.

WDSF thanks the Chinese DanceSport Federation for hosting the 2023 WDSF GrandSlam Finals and BD Dance as the main WDSF GrandSlam Series Sponsor.
