The World Games Athlete of the Year 2023 31/01/2024

The World Games Athlete of the Year 2023 Marius-Andrei Balan and Khrystyna Moshenska (GER) reached the second runners-up place at The World Games Athlete of the Year 2023 election with impressive number of 43560 votes.

The Latin dancing couple was thrilled to reach the third place:

“We are incredibly grateful to be second runners up in The World Games Athlete of the Year Award. We hope DanceSport will become more known all over the world.
Thank you all DanceSport community! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU and we hope that you are also PROUD OF US!”

The WDSF President Shawn Tay commented on the result:

“I'm delighted to witness Marius-Andrei Balan and Khrystyna Moshenska's remarkable journey towards the third place in the IWGA Athlete of the Year Award. I’ve known Marius and Khrystyna for over a decade and have seen them persist through all the triumphs and hardships in their career.

Their global acclaim is in recognition of their sheer hard work, discipline, and dedication, as well as an important indication of the growing popularity of our beautiful, artistic sport.

We, at the WDSF, are very proud of Marius and Khrystyna, and thankful for the recognition from IWGA.”

The Athlete of the Year 2023 title was awarded to Racquetball star Connrado Moscoso (BOL) with astonishing total of 75389 votes, followed by Air Sport’s Luisa Rizzo (ITA) who came second with 55834 votes.

A huge thank you to all who have voted! You have given a voice for DanceSport and for Marius and Khrystyna, and it has been heard. Such a remarkable start for 2024!
